SUFICA Workshop 7 – back in Brazil at last!
The SUFICA project is finishing in April 2022. After a long delay caused by the pandemic, we have finally made it back to Brazil. We are meeting the partner farmers, sharing results and gathering feedback about the biodiversity-friendly practices they tested as part of the project.
So far, the farmers we have visited have been extremely pleased with the project outcomes. They are keen to get their hands on the data we collected on their farms. We have species lists, species abundances, soil quality data, and for a subset of farms, results of the effect of experimental cover crops on insects. More than one farmer has asked if we plan to continue the work. The answer? If we can find some follow-on funding, there is a lot more work to do here!
Next stop, Santiago, for the final SUFICA workshop in September 2022.
