On Tuesday 5th February, fourteen producers, agronomists and fruticulture experts met with SUFICA researchers at the Centro de Excelência em Fruticultura in Juazeiro, Bahia, to discuss the work of the SUFICA project. At this meeting, we started a conversation about the management actions we might test on the SUFICA farms. The farmers provided their views and plenty of discussion about our list of 24 possible actions. We will follow up with an analysis of existing evidence on the effectiveness of their preferred options for multiple ecosystem services (using www.ConservationEvidence.com). We explained our biodiversity and ecosystem service monitoring techniques and discussed fieldwork logistics.
